Ask A Product Specialist
Question:
Hi. I am doing an assignment for a GSLIS library course at UIUC and am wondering if I am able to include a graph showing the document type and language breakdown for Compendex in one of my assignments. Can I paste the graph from the "view chart" function in "refine Search" into my assignment? And if so how should I acknowledge this?

Answer:
You can use this information because it is for a graduate paper, not for commercial use. For more detail, if you go to Engineering Village, whether you're on the "Quick Search" tab or "Expert Search" tab, scroll down to the very very bottom of the page. You will see a link called "Terms and Conditions". If you click on it, it will give you the information about the use of the site, or how to cite the site. Because of the purpose for which you are using it, it is okay to cite the graph, but you must put the Elsevier Copyright by the graph. You'll see an example in the attachments. They are from a search of all Compendex content. Hope this helps!
